This is Scott, from the Chicago Real Estate School, with a short video to answer a question we get asked quite often here at CRES: How do I get started, and what do I need to know about the process? If you go to our Broker Courses page (it might be different by the time you see it, since it's constantly changing), you'll see "Here's What You Need To Know". There are really just 3 steps to the process. Step 1 is to take the course from an accredited Real Estate School (of course, the Chicago Real Estate School is accredited by the State of Illinois). Step 2 is to pass the test at the end of the course - we have quizzes throughout, so there's not a big surprise at the end. Step 3 is to take and pass the Illinois Real Estate Exam. Then you'll need to find a Sponsoring Broker (we can help with that), then send the required information to the State of Illinois to receive your Real Estate License.
